U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Charles "CQ" Brown, the United States' highest-ranking military officer, will visit Beirut carrying a messgae to Lebanese officials, media reports said.

The message, “whose content has not been revealed, is related to the developments in the region, knowing that its date had been scheduled prior to Hezbollah’s attack” on Israel that took place Sunday morning, al-Liwaa newspaper reported on Monday.

Brown had visited Cairo Sunday for talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi before heading to Israel for meetings there, as part of the U.S. efforts for preventing a regional escalation.
