A Lebanese security source said an Israeli strike hit Hezbollah's south Beirut stronghold Tuesday, with the Israel army confirming it carried out a "targeted" strike in Beirut's southern suburbs.

At least six people were killed and 15 others wounded in the strike, the Health Ministry said.

Hezbollah missile unit commander Ibrahim Qubaisi was "killed" in the strike, the Israeli army said.

"An Israeli strike targeted two floors in a residential building in the Ghobeiri area," a security source said, requesting anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.

The Israeli military did not immediately give further details. "The IDF (Israeli army) conducted a targeted strike in Beirut. Details to follow," it said.

TV networks said the strike targeted a building facing the al-Khansa mosque in Ghobeiri.

I would've thought that a Hezbollah commander lives in a nicer building than that. Information on Hezbollah's fighters seems very porous.
