Berri says focus should be on 'ending the war'
Speaker Nabih Berri has stressed that he will continue to separate the presidency file from the confrontations in the south, as he again called for “dialogue.”
“I have been proposing initiatives for a year and a half. What I want is to talk with the Lebanese; we are not enemies, and we want to find a solution. All we want is that we talk to each other to reach an agreement that protects our country,” he added, in an interview with the al-Modon news portal.
When asked about the possibility of launching a national dialogue not only about the presidency but also about how to save Lebanon from the current situation, he answered: “The time now is for ending the war, after which there will be time for agreeing on all the other points. What we want is solidarity among each other.”
