Heavy strikes hit Dahieh, US voices 'concerns'
Fresh strikes targeted Beirut's southern suburbs on Friday following an evacuation order issued by the Israeli army.
Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported a "heavy strike" carried out with two missiles fired by an "enemy aircraft" in the area of Bourj al-Barajneh and a "heavy raid" near Horsh Beirut, the capital's largest park.
An 11-story residential building in the Tayouneh-Ghobeiri area collapsed in a gigantic cloud of smoke and dust following the strike.
A series of images from the strike captures a falling projectile slamming into the lower floors of the building, which erupt in a huge fireball, causing the structure to collapse.
The Israeli army later warned that it will strike Haret Hreik and Hadath.

The United States voiced concern Thursday after ally Israel struck Beirut southern suburbs, saying it opposed attacks in densely populated parts of Lebanon.
"Certainly we would have concerns," State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said when asked about the Israeli strikes.
"You’ve heard us say time and time again that we do not want to see these kinds of (military) operations in Beirut, especially as it relates to densely populated areas."
