Reports: Israeli army tells govt. to accept Lebanon deal
The Israeli army has started decreasing military reinforcements in the Upper Galilee to pave the way for returning the displaced residents to north Israel, Saudi Arabia’s Asharq al-Awsat newspaper has reported.
“The army has finished the mission specified by the political leadership in south Lebanon and is seeking to preserve its achievements,” the daily quoted senior Israeli military sources as saying.
The army “asks the political leadership to accept the agreement that the U.S. and France are seeking to reach with the government in Beirut,” the sources added.
