Hezbollah and Amal to vote for Aoun after they received 'Saudi guarantees'
Hezbollah and the Amal Movement will vote for Army Commander General Joseph Aoun in Thursday’s presidential election session, granting him the votes needed to become the country’s new president, TV networks said.
“It has become certain that Joseph Aoun will be elected president today,” Al-Arabiya TV reported.
MTV for its part said that “the Shiite Duo will cast blank ballots in the first round of voting and will vote for Joseph Aoun in the second round.”
OTV meanwhile reported that Saudi Arabia has offered “guarantees” to the Shiite Duo.
Hezbollah and the Amal Movement “will guarantee Aoun’s victory and may distribute votes between blank ballots and Aoun, guaranteeing him 86 votes,” OTV said.
Saudi Arabia has “promised the Shiite Duo the finance ministry as one of the guarantees,” OTV added.
Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Bukhari meanwhile held a meeting in parliament with Speaker Nabih Berri’s aide MP Ali Hassan Khalil only minutes before the session.
The usual theft of money is still in their mind....Guarantee of what? always want to own the money ministry to hide the 30 years of theft?
In developed countries they call it: Job Rotation to ensure no hidden agendas and transparency plus reform is always being done the loyalty is to the institution versus personal gains.
