The United Nations welcomed the formation of a new government in Lebanon on Saturday, which ended more than two years under a caretaker cabinet.
"Today’s government formation heralds a new and brighter chapter for Lebanon," the office of the United Nations special coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, said in a statement.
"The U.N. looks forward to working with the Government of Lebanon in its efforts to advance key reforms and consolidate security and stability through the full implementation of UNSCR 1701," it added.

"United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 was adopted in 2006 to end the Lebanon War. The resolution called for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the disarmament of Hezbollah. It also established a UN peacekeeping force to monitor the ceasefire and support the Lebanese armed forces." Google's AI Overview.
Hennis-Plasschaert apparently regards racism as not needing any "key reform". Article 24 of the Lebanese Constitution which reserves half of parliamentary seats to "Christians" is the reason there is a Hezbollah.
If she wants "security and stability" in the region she should oppose racism, starting with Israel. What does she think of Israel?
