Interior minister stresses commitment to timely municipal polls
Interior Minister Ahmad al-Hajjar has stressed that the ministry is committed to organizing the May municipal and mayoral elections on time.
“Work is ongoing to finalize administrative readiness,” Hajjar said in an interview with Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.
“The government is determined to carry out this juncture according to the highest standards of transparency, integrity and democracy,” the minister added.
“As for holding the elections in the destroyed border villages and towns, we are preparing a study that includes an appropriate solution,” Hajjar said.
