Suleiman: Sectarian Distribution of Power Impeding Rise of the State
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPresident Michel Suleiman criticized on Saturday time wasted over disputes among political leaders, which he said is hindering the proper functioning of the state.
He said: “The political mentality which is based on sectarian distribution of power is impeding the rise of the state.”
He therefore called on all sides to “derive lessons from the developments taking place around us” in order to rectify the situation in Lebanon.
The president later held talks with the head of the Mustaqbal bloc MP Fouad Saniora.
Suleiman also met with Ministers Adnan Mansour, Marwan Charbel, Nicolas Nahhas, and Marwan Kheireddine ahead of his upcoming visit to Romania and the Czech Republic on Monday.
You serve the country better when you dont speak, thats the reason why you were chosen as President. Our last Lebanese President was Rene Moawad and that was in 1989.
of course it is hindering our lives. our general consul here has been a shiaa and a slave of berri for many years. most of the shiaa here and other cronies send their cash money to lebanon through the diplomatic delivery of the consulate. after many years they brought an assistant counsel who was christian and the shiaa community gave him hell since day one and they are finally getting rid of him and we will no longer have a christian assistant counsel at the consulate. further while the government was not making any appointments, the shiaa were able to bring a new shiaa counsel to the consulate upon berri's orders.
When the Shia start paying for electricity the current account problem will go away, except for the massive debt built up because they haven't paid in decades.
Don't talk of sectarian distribution, until you talk of sectarian payment.
So you four are Christians who think the only problem with Lebanon is that the 75% of Lebanese who aren't Christians (what's your guess of the numbers, or should there be a new census?) aren't doing their fair share in government duties, just because you won't give them their fair share of seats in Parliament? You think that's a bad excuse for them to offer?
Whats not fair ya Chris is that we made Lebanon, it is unique in its make up incase you are blind and we command more than 60% of the Lebanese population, cmon lets have a census and bring in all the registered Lebanese from around the world or does this scare you !!
Take the Christians away from Lebanon and you have another defunct arab country i.e Syria Iraq Iran
