Report: Hezbollah disarmament north of Litani likely to begin next week

The Lebanese Army will likely begin removing Hezbollah’s weapons north of the Litani River next week, informed sources told the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper in remarks published Friday.
The process will take place “without media coverage and in coordination with Hezbollah’s leaders,” the sources added.
Diplomatic sources meanwhile told the daily that the looming nuclear agreement between Iran and the U.S. would “change the face of the region” and push Hezbollah to “officially declare the end of its project, seeing as it is still keeping the weapons as a pressure card in the hand of Iran, which does not want to give up its regional cards before declaring its nuclear agreement.”
