UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon visits Israel

The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, began Monday a visit to Israel, where she is set to meet with senior officials, her office said.
The visit is part of the Special Coordinator’s “regular consultations on steps to consolidate progress made since the November 2024 Cessation of Hostilities Understanding came into effect and to advance the implementation of Security Council resolution 1701 (2006),” the office said in a statement.
The Special Coordinator “continues to call on all sides to abide by their commitments and create the necessary conditions for enduring security and stability across the Blue Line,” the statement added.
