Aoun seeks to meet Saudi and Emirati leaders in bid to avert war, report says
President Joseph Aoun headed Tuesday to Oman, as he reportedly intensifies diplomacy with Arab and international countries to prevent a possible escalation.
Pro-Hezbollah al-Akhbar newspaper said Oman represents a point of intersection between the United States, Iran, and the Gulf States, making it a good place for negotiations concerning the Lebanese file.
The daily also reported that Aoun is trying to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed in his bid to avoid a renewed Israeli war.
Aoun reportedly will officiate at an arm-wrestling match between the KSA and UAE despots, which will be conducted with special arms surgically transplanted onto the two despots' shoulders for the purposes of the match. At stake is the future of Sudan. And Yemen. And possibly Gaza. And of course Lebanon.
