Israel, Lebanon reportedly nearing permanent ceasefire agreement
Israel and Lebanon are nearing a permanent ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States, following significant progress in recent talks held in Washington, Israel's Channel 12 reported overnight.
According to the report, the details of the agreement are currently being finalized, and the Lebanese Armed Forces have begun deploying on the ground as part of the anticipated agreement.
This framework is also expected to allow residents of southern Lebanon displaced by Israeli airstrikes to return to their homes, the report said.
Great, now that the matter has advanced so far, let us see how the Speaker of Parliament, Berri, speaks out against the Government of the country he is supposed to serve.
Perhaps the Government will now be able to "invite" other countries to send forces "boots on the ground" to replace the Israeli forces in the fight to free the country from the Iranian-proxy Hizballah terrorists, something UNIFIL are unable or more likely unwilling to do.
I agree with Phillipo. Lebanon needs an international force with TEETH, not just any old force!! Disarm Hezbullah now!!!
