Jumblat calls for preserving south's memory of 'coexistence, struggle and attachment to land'

Druze leader Walid Jumblat has emphasized that the most important thing is to preserve “the memory of south Lebanon and Jabal Amel in coexistence, struggle, resilience, intellectual and cultural contributions, scholarship and attachment to the land.”

In a statement, Jumblat added that it is crucial to prevent “some who are intellectually and politically deviant” from “reverting to the schemes and conspiracies of the Zionist Organization in the mid-20th century.”
