Israel claims overnight strikes targeted Hezbollah operatives, depots
The Israeli army claimed Saturday that it struck Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure a day earlier in response to an explosive drone that was allegedly launched by Hezbollah but caused no casualties.
Lebanon's health ministry said the strikes in south Lebanon and a West Bekaa town killed three people and wounded 23 others.
"As part of the strikes, Air Force aircraft targeted weapons depots intended for use by the organization's operatives to plan and direct terrorist plots targeting IDF (army) forces in the security zone and the citizens of the State of Israel. These strikes were carried out to eliminate an immediate threat," the Israeli army claimed in a statement.
The Israeli army "will not allow" Hezbollah to "harm the citizens of the State of Israel or its forces, and will continue to act to eliminate threats while remaining committed to the ceasefire agreement," it said.
Hezbollah has not claimed the attack nor commented on the Israeli strikes.

Pressed for details, the army said that a "shoestring depot had been taken out". Asked if this was military jargon, the army replied, "You know, the things you tie army boots with, or running shoes. We estimate there were dozens of pairs of shoestrings in or around the depot."
