Israeli forces carried out on Friday detonations in al-Teeri, Beit Yahoun and al-Qantara while opening heavy machine-gun fire toward the town and nearby al-Khiam.

Overnight into Friday, Israeli artillery also shelled al-Qantara, Mayfadoun and Wadi Slouqi while forces advanced toward Zawtar al-Gharbieh and detonated houses in al-Khiam.

Later in the day, an Israeli army patrol advanced from the occupied Lebanese town of Kfar Kila toward the outskirts of Deir Mimas and opened fire near several local residents while they were harvesting olives, forcing them to leave the area.

The Israeli soldiers also took position on the outskirts of the town, blocking entry and exit, and detained one of the local residents, taking him to an unknown location.

Violence had decreased since the signing of a U.S.-brokered framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel in June and a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding earlier that month.

An Israeli strike killed a motorcyclist in the southern town of Qabrikha on Wednesday, the first such death since September, when 13 people were killed in an Israeli strike on a village in the Nabatieh region.
