The cabinet approved on Tuesday the reduction of the telecommunications ministry’s broadband service fees and internet and commercial lines.

During a meeting it held at the Grand Serail under Premier Najib Miqati, the government gave the green light to make the internet services free between midnight and 7 a.m., Information Minister Walid al-Daouq said in his press briefing.

The government also approved a request by the telecommunications ministry to sign the Postal Euromed agreement.

Postal Euromed sets up a common, cross-border platform for the shipping of online purchases and helps the development of technologies for a more efficient mail service, and to provide more effective international financial and communication services.
