Prime Minister Najib Miqati stressed on Thursday that the assassination bid of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea affects the security situation in the country.

“The incident affects the security of the nation and the citizens. I have informed the security authorities to follow up the matter,” Miqati told An Nahar newspaper.

The PM demanded the competent judiciary and security authorities to swiftly carry out the required investigations.

Security forces extracted two sniper bullets, ranging between 12.7 and 14.5mm, from a wall at Geagea’s house in Maarab.

The LF leader said that the security of the Maarab compound was not breached and that the assailant had carried out the attack from a distance of up to four kilometers using very advanced equipment.

According to a statement issued by the LF media department on Thursday, Geagea held a meeting with a delegation from the March 14 MPs including: Atef Majdalani, Riad Rahhal, Nadim Gemayel, Serge Tor Sarkissian, Tony Abou Khater and Joseph Maalouf.

“We are here to condemn this terrorist act that aims at stirring sedition” in Lebanon, MP Majdalani said.

For his part, MP Gemayel said that the side that carried out and planned this assassination bid “has a foreign support… and we will do the impossible to withdraw the arms from that side through building a fortified state and imprisoning those who committed the assassinations.”

There is nothing kesrweneh about you. You must be one of the 400 or so Syrian spies planted in Keserwen during the dark days of Lebanon. You are the blacksheep of keserwen.

Geha, lets not go down to their level of none-democratic means. Assassination is rejected as a tool no matter who the perpetrator or the victim are.

I was hoping to sense more patriotism and rejection of killings from you.... but maybe my expectations were too high

Go read the other hundreds of comments in articles before you come critisizing here. For someone who supports a mafia, I'm stunned you even have noble expectations of other people.
