Flights Suspended as Dense Fog Engulfs Lebanese Coast

The Lebanese airspace was closed from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday due to rare dense fog that engulfed the country’s coast and caused low visibility.

All incoming flights were diverted to Cyprus, said Kamal Shoaib, deputy head of the Beirut Rafik Hariri International Airport.

“Aviation will return to normalcy as soon as fog subsides,” Shoaib added.

For the first time in decades, heavy fog engulfed the southern coastal city of Tyre, totally blocking visibility and disrupting traffic, with some motorists parking their vehicles on the side of the road seeking safety.

The meteorological department said the Lebanese coast will continue to witness light and dense fog throughout the night and Saturday morning, before it starts abating by noon.

It advised motorists in coastal areas to drive carefully and slowly and to use their emergency flashers in order to avoid any accidents. The department also urged fishermen to avoid sailing at night.

F.T and ul...
Just because you make rediculous statements does not exhort the hezb from crimes against the State, the army and the citizens.
Start talking like intellectual citizens seeking a sovereign and democratic Lebanon with a demarcated and secure border, armed confined to the state and laws that can be applied to all......not a banana republic state.

look we all want a nice democratic country and i'm all for that, in fact i'll be leavin this country soon just cause we have no rights here, but tell you what i don't want to lay blame on what specific group over the other, removin hezb form the scene is not goin to solve anything in fact it'll make it worse the whole system is rotten for the core and the truth is that'll take more than hundred years if ever to really fix, the fact is lebanon is too devided and too dependent on foreign powers you'll never be free you don't want to if you are part of the 10 percent who truly wish for a democratic state the rest of the sheep would just reelcet the same old war criminal over again.

That isn't fog......it is Aoun's political vision by going with M8.

As long as your hezb undermines the state then of course they are the cause of every evil incident, when they start becoming true normal citizens, indifferent and pay their electric bill then they will be treated fairly and equally, until then the air is polluted because of them.
