Premier Najib Miqati kept mum to the severe criticism launched against him by March 14 opposition MPs during a parliamentary session but has vowed to make a calm response that sets the policies of his cabinet and future expectations.

Lawmakers attended the session on Thursday on its third and last day before Miqati issues his response to what his sources said were “parliamentary deliberations that led to a dispute between the majority and opposition to settle scores.”

The ministers will prepare technical responses to the criticism made by March 14 lawmakers against their ministries while the prime minister will “make a calm speech … that would set the policies of his government and his expectations in the next stage mainly the preservation of stability,” the sources told An Nahar daily.

“The opposition hasn’t proposed anything new. It launched a criticism that has nothing to do with the performance of the cabinet,” they said.

When asked by reporters about the scathing attacks against him, Miqati told reporters at the end of Wednesday’s session that “the criticism should be constructive so that we could take it into consideration.”

Speaker Nabih Berri announced at the end of the session that 21 more lawmakers are set to address the assembly on Thursday after around 15 MPs withdrew their requests to make statements.

Lets take a look at the facts.. This government has done absolute squat. Crime is rising, no solution to electricity, no job creation, no social security upgrades, higher fuel prices, lax officials, etc etc. i don't know what lala land you live on FT but you're clearly dillusional.

ft once again you have NOT contributed anything informative to discussions, instead you prefer name calling and immature jokes to get attention. You have a natural tendancy to think everything anyone from the opposite side says is wrong and un-substantiated.
It is my opinion that 12 months is not sufficient time to fix the mess lebanon is in, it is also my opinion that the current government does not have the right to govern this country albeit they are in control. It is the same old story flame, when m14 was in power your kind complained and blocked and burnt tyres and made threats and I don't recall one coment supporting any proposal by the then govt,

now m8 is in power the same rule applies however you are all happy to denounce the other side for a lot less then what m8 had done. This is a parlimentary session where I am happy that at least some law makers know what they are saying and for you to dismiss as 'o supporting evidence' is testiment to your vein and blinded outlook on lebanese politics. Yours is a typical lebanese mind 'unfortunatley' saying people are barking is disrespectful, I hope your parents taught you better, and refuting any point of view but your own and that of your masters. Try having an objective point of view all the time it may get that brain thinking a litle more
