France on Monday condemned the latest deadly violence in Syria and Lebanon, warning that “the persistence of repression (in Syria) jeopardizes regional security.”

“We express our regret over the killing of two clergymen in northern Lebanon,” Sheikh Ahmed Abdul Wahed and his companion Sheikh Mohammed al-Merheb, said Bernard Valero, the French foreign ministry’s spokesman.

He said France also condemns the clashes that took place overnight Monday in Beirut’s Tariq al-Jedideh and “calls on all parties to reject provocations.”

Valero stressed that “only dialogue will allow the diffusing of tensions.”

@ To whom it may concern, if you are carrying a weapon and you are not wearing the Lebanese Army or Lebanese ISF uniform then you are nothing but a thug with a gun sending your country back to the Stone Age where everyone ridicules your wayward and archaic and uncivilized ways and the rest exploits them. This goes for ANYONE from all political sides.

Qatar & Hariri are playing with fire. Everyone knows it. They don't know what they do.

And for God sake, Lebanese are much more matured than letting foreign carefully studied news breaks to cause problems in Lebanon.

Israel, Iran, Syria, US... Leave us to be. They claim to want out sovereignty... Leave us be!
