Beirut Judge Receives Files in Al-Jadeed Attack Case
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةBeirut Examining Magistrate Ghassan Owaidat received on Monday the prosecution file against Wissam Aleddine, who is accused of attacking al-Jadeed television on June 25.
He is held on charges of attempted murder and weapons possession.
Owaidat is expected to interrogate the suspect on Tuesday or a later date.
Al-Jadeed was the target of a shooting by masked gunmen who then burnt tires in front of the television’s headquarters.
Security forces managed to arrest Alaeddine, whom An Nahar daily said is an official in the Resistance Brigades that played a role in the May 7, 2008 events.
The daily reported that the attack on al-Jadeed last week was supposed to be followed with one on Future Television but Alaeddine’s injury while burning tires prevented the plan.
The attack against al-Jadeed was prompted by the television station’s hosting of the Imam of Sidon’s Bilal bin Rabah mosque Sheikh Ahmed al-Asir, who launched a scathing attack against Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and Speaker Nabih Berri.
Al-Jadeed has since apologized for the cleric’s statements.
just a matter of time before he's free as a bird.
who says there should be law... in the jungle!
There's no more resistance since Israel abandoned Lebanon, it transformed into terrorism... just as it was in the very beginning in the early 80s when they bombed the US embassy and the French Drakkar in Beirut. Basically, It's a failure of Hezbollah to adapt to the geopolitical situation... shame for them and their supporters that will suffer from a lack of weapons and money sooner rather than later. Their only chance is a military coup against ALL lebanese, they gave us a sample on May 7, they were already subconsciously feeling this threat.
If lebanon would send its soldiers to the US then the US would have blown them up. Why do you thinks its ok for the US to be armed in lebanon but wrong for hezballah who for many years have been the only protectors of the south.
May 7 was a response to May 5 by the way.
Remember that day when the Lebanese American University in formerly 'Qoraytem Republic' was attacked by some Hariri's palace guards?
Tell me they weren't real thugs.
actually "@" what everyone remembers are the masked thugs who attacked the lebanese army and the students at the lebanese university and the masked thugs who attacked beirut and burned tv and newspaper buildings and the masked thugs who attached al jadeed, no one knew who those masked thugs were until one of them got caught and his masked thugs friends burned tires to hinder the lebanese army's deployment and to protest the masked thug's arrest, now everyone knows who the masked thugs were, they belonged to hassan's bee2at al hadinat
