An Islamic summit held at Dar al-Fatwa on Saturday stressed the importance of keeping Lebanon away from regional disputes.

It said in a statement: “Muslim unity must reject strife and maintain the role of the army in preserving national unity.”

The meeting was sponsored by Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani and included the Vice President of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan and Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Naim Hassan.

The gatherers voiced their “deep concern over the current political tension in Lebanon,” expressing a fear that it will have dangerous repercussions on the general situation in the country.

They affirmed their trust in the political and religious figures, as well as the awareness of the Lebanese people, to keep Lebanon away from regional developments.

This was not an Islamic summit. Druze are not Muslim (they dont even call themselfs Muslims.) And shiites are shiites. They consider themselfs to be part of Islam but saying Ya Ali and Ya Hussein is shirk according to Islam. A mushrik can not be muslim. Not to mention everything else they have legalized which goes against Islam. Therefor this summit was nothing but a political summit.

fine. Call it a meeting of gentlemen with white beards... The essence is " it is good to have people who calm down spirits and call for unity"

Dont you get sick of writing wahhabi and wahhabism to everyone? Your opinion is irrelevent as it is Allah SWT who decides what Islam is, not khomeini and Abdallah bin saba the founder of shiaism. Oh and i am not wahhabi but thanks for showing me how stupid enemies of Islam are.

3akkari, such a shame that you consider yourself Muslim and to be in the name of the Druze or the Shiites, who are both Muslim, hence why they were taking part in this Islamic summit. Your takfiri ideology, whether you are a Salafi, Wahabi, or whatever is what motivates terrorists to blow up Mosques and Churches in Iraq. Dar al Fatwa doesn't even support your fundamentalism, enough with the hate.

3akkari: you need to relax. It isn't your job to judge people, remember that only Allah judges people, not humans. If they consider themselves Muslims it's their problem and Allah will deal with them accordingly. You're right about this summit, it's strictly political, but isn't it better to gather rather than split?

You: Who are you to judge people? You're so gay...

Cant you write without cursing? Well its not me who decides who is muslim, it is Allah swt and he has said what belief are Islam and what belief are kofor in the noble qoran. Shirk is not allowed under any circumstances in Islam therefor 12er shiites are not part of Islam ACCORDING TO GOD HIMSELF. Now if you dont believe in the qoran, thats your problem but dont think you can tell muslims what Islam is. Its not your job.

That is fine, just as long you tolerate non-Sunnis call you a non-muslim. Just as long you treat ALL people EQUAL, no matter WHAT they believe, than that is fine. Otherwise, you are a stupid religious kook and we do not want your fanaticism in Lebanon.

I`m not the one telling people who is Muslim and who is not, read your 1st comment before you reply.I believe in the Holly Qoran book, the Islamic summit was held to back the army and it seems you have a problem with that .

3akkari1
It seems like you are an educated man about religion, my question to you is: How about the millions of people who were before Islam and before Christ are non human and went to hell? Is that how God work? beside tou said that God is the Judge, so why are you Judging the Mashayekh, I like all of them and I really appreciate their meeting and their call for peace.
