State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr issued on Friday arrest warrants against gunmen involved in the clashes in the northern city of Tripoli.

He ordered the military police, army intelligence, and Internal Security Forces to identify and arrest those involved in the Tripoli unrest.

This includes all the gunmen who appeared on media outlets as part of the coverage of the events.

The clashes broke out on Monday between the rival neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen over an individual dispute.

The fighting soon escalated, resulting in 13 deaths and at least 95 wounded.

You're out of line buddy. Aoun didn't speak against the Moqdads. Remember you can't say what you want, only what you're paid to say!

Right everyone?

Thumb benzona 24 August 2012, 16:22

They should arrest them ASAP as well as the 4 hezbollah militiamen that are wanted for Hariri's assassination. Storm Tripoli, Bekaa and Dahye ASAP.

Thumb geha 24 August 2012, 17:04

unfortunately as you will discover, this supposed justice will attack m14 guys and leave jabal mohsen and ali eid alone, as well as the moqdad family.

The only question I have is why the hell did they wait until 4 days after the clashes started, they should of started arresting them on day one. Seriously are they ever going to learn.

Thumb dasphinx 24 August 2012, 17:38

Let them arrest them all, including Sunnis, Alaouites, Mokdadites, etc... I am fed up like most Lebanese are.

It is a start who cares if they are M14 OR M8 .Lebanon should be a weapon free country.

guys! just be newtral! no1 gives a damn about us the population,i just hope violence stops! its enough what weve been through all these years...unfortunatly there seems to be big intrests behind all these escalations to drag us. and i wish the people start thinking wise once and for all! us,the new generation are suffering,we dont even have a proper future! why cant every1 just be lebanese and live peacefully together!

Thumb jadski 24 August 2012, 19:20

Ur feelings and views are understandable. Trust me when i say that lebanon is not the only place with this kind of problem. Even in NYC, certain groups of people have their own sets of laws. Lebanon is one of the most complex countries in the world politically and religiously. Loving our country means patience and extreme tolerance. Cautious optimism is setting in i think, we are still in the negative but it seems we moving towards a positive. This will only happen with Assad's regime disappearing and this total failure of a government changing.

Missing formerlebanese 24 August 2012, 19:38

I'm sorry but I have to disagree NYC can't even get close to a mile of how lawless Lebanon has become. For gods sake you have people kidnapped and their kidnappers are on TV talking about it! You have militia men fighting and talkIng about it as if there is no government.

This is as bad as it gets. The only place you can compare to Lebanon is a jungle.

Thumb jadski 24 August 2012, 19:47

im not actually comparing lebanon to NYC, there is no real comparison, im just saying that even in such a city, this political separation due to religious affiliation exists. Lebanon is currently a jungle , yes. your name is very saddening "formerlebanese". things are very hard and complicated in lebanon right now and its very disheartening, but lets do it all a favor by believing in our tiny, fragile, confused but beautiful country because thats what it needs. Lebanon still deserves our love and in my mind always will.

It's about time the state stepped up its efforts in containing the situation. The next step is to issue an order to seal up the border and collect the weapons. This is the perfect opportunity for the Lebanese to strengthen the state while the Syrian regime is weak because no one knows what the future Syria will look like and if it will meddle in Lebanese affairs.
