The Military Tribunal released from custody a Major, who was accused of arms trafficking, media reports said on Wednesday.

According to LBCI, Major Wissam Abdul Khaliq was released after being charged with allegedly smuggling arms to neighboring country Syria.

It remains unclear if Abdul Khaliq is a member of the army or any other security agency.

On September 7, an arrest warrant was issued against the Major.

Security forces arrested a Lieutenant Colonel and two civilians on charges of arms trade on August 30.

The Syrian regime has repeatedly said that weapons are being smuggled from Lebanon to arm the rebel Free Syrian Army.

Lebanese are deeply divided between partisans and opponents of Syrian President Bashar Assad and fear is surging that the violence in the neighboring country could spill over into Lebanon and fracture its fragile peace.

What more proof do we need that Partition is the answer. USA wont fully equip the Army because they know hizb has a major influence through some rogue soldiers.
