Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Tuesday warned that “the killing machine has returned and we must find a solution to stop it," in the wake of the assassination of Intelligence Bureau chief Maj. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan in a car bombing blamed on Syria.

"The current situation is unacceptable as we are being killed," Geagea said at a press conference in Maarab, adding that "the parliamentary political life in Lebanon is not normal."

"A sovereign government must be formed because we cannot be partners with the killing machine," he added.

Asked about remarks by Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun who said he had the right to blame al-Hasan's assassination on "those who want to stir clashes among the Lebanese," Geagea said:  Aoun always voices accusations before the end of investigations."

Aoun had also accused the March 14 camp of resorting to "outrageous" political accusations.

"The current government must leave because the killing machine is part of it in a direct or indirect way," Geagea stressed.

Asked about the international support for the current government, Geagea noted that "the formation of the government is a purely Lebanese issue."

"There cannot be a serious solution in Lebanon except under a sovereign government. Where is national unity so that we demand the formation of a national unity government? We must stop the killing machine," he added.

The opposition March 14 forces have called on Miqati to resign, in the wake of al-Hasan's assassination in a massive rush-hour car bombing that also killed his bodyguard and two other people and left more than 100 others wounded.

a sovereign Lebanon needs to start with ousting the traitors executing the orders of the syrian regime and iran from this cabinet.
crippling the parliament is a good first step, as it blocks them from steeling mre from us.
additional steps to come soon.
