UNHCR: At Least 212,000 Syrian Refugees Currently in Lebanon

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees announced on Saturday that the number of Syrians and Palestinians who have fled the neighboring war-torn country and came to Lebanon has exceeded 212,000.
“These 212,000 refugees are currently receiving aid from the Lebanese government, the United Nations and non-governmental organizations,” a statement released by the U.N. said.
The UNHCR pointed out: “This number is the highest since the eruption of Syria's conflict”.
The statement detailed that the majority of refugees reside in the north of Lebanon with their number reaching 73,970. Meanwhile, 56,284 refugees are in the Bekaa and 17,404 are spread between Beirut and the South.
Of these refugees, 147,000 are registered while the names of 64,000 others will be listed soon.
“We register 1500 refugee a day in our offices spread around Lebanon,” the UNHCR explained, noting that most Syrians come from Homs, Aleppo, Idlib and Damascus.
The statement revealed that more offices will be established to ease the registration process.
Lebanon appealed on Sunday for $180 million from Arab countries to help it meet the Syrian refugee influx that has threatened to bring the number of the displaced to 420,000 in June.
The Arab League decided to send a team to Syria's neighboring countries to assess the status of refugees ahead of a donor conference in Kuwait on January 30.

To see the neighbore countries tregdy as last week, Lebanon must be fierced by those suicide bombs' attacks and the feral carnage happened to kill more than 800 people in Syria. For recent discussion, your honorable countries' leader seemed to be afraide to cope with the influx of Syrian refugee to explain the place might be safe for them to return. But to read to call aid to Lebanon to help Syrian refugees, I am so impressed by the indomitable effort to combat with the distress in Syria, though the strage actions by FSA and the judicial disputes continued in your honorable country.
