Tension was felt in the northern city of Tripoli on Saturday evening and gunshots were heard in the region following a personal feud that took place at a vegetable market.

“The residents of (the Tripoli neighborhood of) Jabal Mohsen blocked a northern road with burned tires after men from (the area of) Bab al-Tabbaneh attacked two people from their neighborhood,” Radio Voice of Lebanon (100.5) said.

LBCI television added: “Bursts of machine gun have been heard in Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen following the incident”.

Meanwhile, VDL (93.3) said an Inerga-type rocket was dropped on Syria street that separates Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen neighborhoods.

Arab Democratic Party official Rifaat Eid told LBCI: “What happened in Jabal Mohsen is a spontaneous reaction to the feud in the vegetable market”.

“The security forces promised to follow-up on the situation,” he noted.

Separately, the international road in Tripoli was blocked for over an hour also on Saturday as residents demanded information on Hasan Srour and Mohammed al-Rifai who are missing in Syria.

Eid labeled on Thursday the situation in Tripoli as “intolerable”, warning against the lack of security and the “sectarian killing” taking place in the northern region.

It gets tiring and disappointing to read the title of the storied on Naharnet.
Tension in Tripoli after Personal Feud at Vegetable Market ..... even Zimbabwe is surpassing us.
What happened to National achievements on all levels, Scientific breakthroughs, decorated people and celebrated minds. Is this what we have been reduced to? Alas.

It's the Syrians, they want to destabilize it before collapsing on the other side of the border. Nobody else has any interest in creating a strife, not KSA, not Iran... Nobody.

walla helicopter you are right, in zimbabwe they are at least having these problems at the theatre. And another thing, why does naharnet assumes that they don't need to explain what is an inerga-type rocket? why am I supposed to know what that rocket is? if you're going to mention it, at least tell us if it's made of lemon and salt.

Imagine, guys for a moment that your a child growing up in Jabel Mohsen or Bab Al Tabbeneh ok. and all you've ever known is that someone killed someone in your family or village and they just a street divides your neighbourhoods. Day in and out all you hear is guns going off. If the Adult males on both sides aren't able to control their anger for past crimes committed, then what hope are they giving the child that sees this day in and day out. When men lay down their weapons ON BOTH SIDES and discuss issues like MEN should, try to solve their problems their children may face a better future than listening and seeing gunfire every day.

Remember that god gave the human being the best tool His tongue, ability to communicate. NOT weapons
