Gemayel: Cabinet was Formed After Full Coordination with Syria

Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel stressed on Tuesday that Prime Minister Najib Miqati’s new cabinet was formed after receiving a Syrian green light.
“It is obvious that the formation of the government came after full coordination” with Damascus, Gemayel told LBC TV network. “Syria will take advantage of it (the cabinet) to consolidate itself and use it as a tool in its foreign contacts or to confront the challenges that it is currently facing.”
Dubbing Miqati’s cabinet as one-sided, the former president said it won’t be able to confront challenges facing Lebanon.
The government is “shackled by clear conditions … and will shove us into a mess that we don’t know where it would lead the country to,” he told LBC.
“We had confirmed that we don’t want to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs and it would have been better for it not to meddle in our local issues,” Gemayel said.
He confirmed that the Phalange party would coordinate with its allies in the March 14 forces to make a clear stance from Miqati’s government.
Lebanon should stay committed to international resolutions, mainly 1701, and the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, Gemayel said.

Lebanon & Syria are one --but living into two different countries. So it does not matter coordination or formation in Syria, or Iran. This new Cabinet/gov is the best ever for Lebanon. I hope one day all 3 country become offically as one country.

I would wait to see their formal agenda and their dealings with the rest of the world.... Bashar wants them to be flexible so that he can use them as his messengers out there in the world.... Only problem will be the STL and the indictment..... I am nit expecting much of this cabinet although I wish them luck because Lebanon needs some stability and economic boost.... Sooner rather than later

All that Harriri Baba and the 40 Thieves have done to Lebanon is given us $50 Billion in debt. Sure they built an airport and some roads but for $50 Billion l could have turned Beirut into Dubai. They stole downtown Beirut, stole our shores and even stole our garbage through Sukleen and when people say no, well just look at St.George Hotel.

Liban, before you start attacking me, let me tell you onw thing; As a true Lebanese I believe that no one is my master, not the USA, Israel, Syria, or Iran. As a Lebanese, and a proud one at that, I am ashamed that people in this country have to always follow someone, shame on us because the people we elect to represent us go to Syria, Saudi, the US, France, etc etc. whenever they want to make a decision about something, even going to the bathroom! A quick question for you, why do you immediately assume that, if I attack Syria and Iran, then I am with the US or Israel? This is the argument you and the FPM, HA and all their allies have used all the time!! Understand this, there is a big portion of Lebanese, including myself, who believe that we should be our own masters, that we should govern ourselves and not have to run to Damascus or Washington to get their approval on anything...This is what being a Lebanese is all about, THAT is patriotism!!! Long live Lebanon, and only Lebanon!
