March 14 Criticizes Armed Forces for Failing to Stop Iranian Embassy Crime

The March 14 general-secretariat slammed the security forces and the Lebanese army on Wednesday for failing to stop the murder of a protester near the Iranian embassy in Beirut over the weekend.
“The crime against Hashem Salman was committed under the gaze of security forces and the army, which did not interfere to stop it,” said a statement read by MP Ammar Houri after the general-secretariat's weekly meeting.
It said: “The army's statement was vague to the extent of covering up the crime.”
Salman was killed on Sunday when Hizbullah members wielding batons assaulted protesters from the Lebanese Option Party outside the mission in the neighborhood of Bir Hassan in Beirut's southern suburbs.
The demonstrators had barely time to stage their rally near the mission when they came under attack by the Hizbullah members who were wearing black shirts with yellow ribbons around their arms.
“Who is responsible for preventing the broadcast of footage on the attack on Hashem Salman?” the statement wondered in a veiled reference to Hizbullah.
The general-secretariat also urged President Michel Suleiman and Premier-designate Tammam Salam to form the new government “without procrastination.”
The cabinet should be at an equal distance from all parties and put the nation's interest before any other interest, it said.
Salam visited Suleiman at Baabda palace on Wednesday to brief him on the obstacles preventing the formation of the government.
“We hope the Gulf Cooperation Council wouldn't let innocent Lebanese families working in Gulf countries bear the consequences of Hizbullah's actions,” said the March 14 statement, two days after the GCC vowed to adopt measures against Hizbullah members.

still you fail to address why hizbushaitan prevented anyone to approach the wounded for over half an hour? why would they do that if they were not the murderers?

Au dela du meutre, pourquoi ne condamne tu pas leurs actions plutot que de chercher les excuses ? Le meutre de Hashem Salman n'est qu'une consequence de leurs actions ! Je n'ai jamais entendu parlé de chiens du Hezbollah se faire frapper parce qu'il manifestaient.
Les Aounistes par contre semblent oublier qu'ils se sont fait massacrer il y a pas meme 15 ans par les forces pro-syriennes ... Peut etre que vous etes masochiste en plus d'etre sadiques. Ca vous manque les raclées ?

On peut pas pretendre qu'un manifestant a sorti une arme par manque de preuve. De la meme facon qu'on ne puisse pas pretendre que Hezbollah a tiré par manque de preuve.
Cela dit, Mai 2008, il ne s'agissait pas d'une manifestation pacifique ... les circonstances etaient completement differentes et on etait deja bien parti pour une nouvelle guerre civile. Hezbollah avait retourné ses armes contre le peuple libanais, envahit beirut et nos montagnes, des massacres ont eu lieu... ce n'est pas directement comparable.
L'important n'est pas de defendre M14 / M8 ... l'important c'est de sortir de ce statut-quo qui paralyse le pays et nous sommes tous aveugles et acceptons de se faire entubé et en demandons plus.

Mowaten - where did you get your info from? Why would Hizb thugs attack a demonstration? Come on, Hizb thugs act with impunity in Lebanon. Until now, do we have any arrest? For God sake, the army does not dare arrest anyone without the consent of the Hizb.
