Conflicting Reports on Hariri’s Return, Former PM Rejects Vague Wording on STL Clause
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةFormer Prime Minister Saad Hariri hasn’t decided yet to return to Beirut over security fears, al-Joumhouria newspaper reported on Saturday.
“The ex-PM’s return to Lebanon is connected to security issues,” sources told the newspaper.
However, al-Akhbar newspaper reported that Hariri will return to Beirut next week to participate in the gathering that is held by the Lebanese Forces to announce the party’s by-laws in Maarab.
Al-Joumhouria quoted the sources as saying that Hariri will not agree on any ambiguous wording on the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in the policy statement.
They stressed that backing off from commitments made at the national dialogue towards the tribunal would mean a political confrontation by the March 8 forces with the March14-led opposition.
The former PM Saad Hariri will not come back to Lebanon for the simple reason , that he owes one billion eight hundred million US dollars to the Lebanese banks . and this debt is a personal debt .
These news are in all the local and international papers this morning ! except of course , his paper Al Mustakbal and other few ones where he has shares and control over their management ..
Considering what an imbecile Saad is, his presence or lack of it are one and the same. Just ask his master, Feltman.
Le Phenicien - I am not a fan of Hariri and I live in Europe since I left Beirut in 2006. I haven't read any of what you have mentioned, please do not behave like a typical Lebanese who read a small rumour and became 100% biased with it. Do you really think that such as rich powerful man will not come to Beirut for this debt? Are you seriously convinced with that? It is simple, he's not coming back now just for security reasons, we all know which party/side is threatening him. If I were you, I would write something about the article released in the Figaro and Evening Standard saying that Hezbollah are moving Syrians weapons to Lebanon, or about the fact that Syrian politicians are using Lebanese banks to 'clean' their dirty money, How about that my friend?
@ Umberto: Can you please name one good thing Aoun has done to Lebanon? Please do not name what others failed to do, just tell me what Aoun did.
Just to reply to you, following your reasoning:
Considering what an imbecile Aoun is, his presence or absence are the same. Just ask his master Hassouna.
Considering what an imbecile Hassouna is, his presence or absence are the same. Just ask his master Ahmadinijad.
And 8 March list continues....
Lets be real people! The real threat is the Americans, they will soon do something like kill Saad then blame Hizb like usual. We should be concentrating on
1. keeping America and all its interests out of Lebanon.
2. Establishing new rules and real reform in lebanon.
3. Allow all police and authorities carry out these laws without fear and retribution.
Its crazy that simple things like seatbelt and parking offences cant be enforced, because the person being fined, 'knows someone' who can either get out of the fine, or have the officer fining, get fired!
What a joke we all are. The sooner we can change the mentality of the people the better!
