March 14 Calls on Miqati, Cabinet to Commit to 1757 or Step Down

Following a broad meeting for the March 14 forces at the Bristol Hotel in Beirut on Sunday, the coalition called on Prime Minister Najib Miqati and his government to announce their commitment to U.N. Security Council Resolution 1757, which established the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, or step down.

“As a national, democratic opposition … we call on the premier to openly and directly declare his commitment to Resolution 1757 in parliament on Tuesday morning, and to announce his commitment to the practical steps for implementing this resolution, or to step down along with his government,” the March 14 forces said in a statement recited by former premier Fouad Saniora after the meeting.

The March 14 forces described Saturday’s speech by Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as a “rhetoric that relies on the hegemony of arms and force over all the Lebanese, the thing that confirms that the government is subject to this rhetoric.”

“Justice, especially when it is in competent and trusted hands, is our essential means today for protecting Lebanon and preventing its return to the pre-2005 Cedar Revolution era, at a time the Arab peoples have broken the walls of their prisons and started to embrace the dawn of freedom and dignity,” the coalition said.

“The waves of assassinations flourished amid the presence of illegal weapons and … it is unacceptable anymore that illegal arms maintain hegemony over the State,” the March 14 forces stressed in their statement.

“March 14 is adhered to the implementation of all the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially Resolution 1757 in all its stipulations,” the coalition stressed.

It also voiced its commitment to “confronting the path that has been undermining coexistence, the State and the political system, which had started with the armed takeover of the capital in 2008, and which was not halted by the Doha Accord, March 14 forces’ victory in the 2009 elections, the (formation of) national unity governments, or our continuous efforts to put the considerations of national reconciliation above all else.”

That’s why “we will continue our struggle in order to end this hegemony which is reliant on weapons,” the March 14 forces vowed.

They pledged that they will “start seeking to topple this government, which is the result of a coup, starting Tuesday, should the premier fail to declare his commitment to Resolution 1757.”

The conferees also decided to “launch an Arab and international political campaign aimed at liberating the republic from the captivity of weapons, and to ask the Arab governments and the international community not to cooperate with this government should it fail to implement the Resolution 1757’s stipulations.”

“We have been with the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and we will keep on backing it for the sake of fulfilling justice, preserving the dignity and rights of the Lebanese martyrs and citizens, and immunizing political life against the acts of assassination,” the March 14 forces pledged.

They concluded the statement by saying: “No to Hizbullah’s government. Yes to freedom and justice. Yes to coexistence, democracy and the Constitution. Glory to Lebanon and immortality to our martyrs.”

The STL on Thursday submitted to the Lebanese authorities a sealed indictment and arrest warrants in the case of the 2005 assassination of Hariri and his companions.

They can meet as much as they want , and make declarations as much as they want .

But what is for sure , is that Saad hariri is out for good , his remaining surrounding will be leaving in the comming days , and the trace of the hariris in Lebanon will belong to history , and nobody will ever mention their names , except in the corruption they installed in lebanon and the huge debt left by rafik and his gang , among them Siniora .

Parole parole parole ... that's all they have left . Mikati and the new majority headed by GMA and Sayed al moukawama , are here to stay till 2013 .

See you for next elections ..

Point by Point Reply to the Crook - Part 1:

You can repeat a million times that this is Hizbullah’s government. It remains a lie and everybody knows it, even the Pope and Patriarch Al Rahi, to name two most important figures

Yes to coexistence means that you do not cooperate with the enemy (first, Syria and then Israel) against your coexisting brothers.

The government is committing to all the resolutions, even the most important one whose Sale Contract Cheikh Saad himself approved as witnessed by Turkey, Qatar, Syria, Saudi Arabia AND THE UNITED STATES.

March 14 is adhered to doing whatever is necessary to remain in power, and this is why they had the 4 INNOCENT generals thrown in prison for 4 years, almost hanged President Lahoud and played on sectarian sensitivities at every corner and during every election. This is the path that has undermined coexistence. Their new path is towards the prison of Roumieh and then to their hanging.

Point by Point Reply to the Crook – Part 2:
Cheikh Saad approved this most important commitment to March 14 phonies. So go play 14.

The waves of assassinations flourished while March 14 losers and partners-in-crime with the real criminals, Israel and the US ran the government, and they failed to solve one case. NOT ONE CASE, not even the crimes committed by your own in Akkar and Tripoly when they SLAUGHTERED innocent people there. So have shame and shut up, for the sake of coexistence.

Justice was never in trusted hands and we all know it. Now, it will be. Rafik Hariri, who the fakes (and most of you are) now lament, funded the fighting militias on all sides during the "civil war" and that makes him a partner-in-crime. Keep quiet until you burn in hell, where you belong.

GMA?

Please refer to him as DGMA=disgraced general Michale Aoun or CMA=coward Michael Aoun.

He loves Michael Aoun and hates Lebanon.

How ironic... I just remembered when the old opposition was demonstrating for the sanyoura government to step down. His reaction was : " LAN yarmok li jefen" which means I will not move an eyelash.

Should mikati now give him the same reaction?

ONLY the Lebanese people decide whether STL is fair or not. Not the Israeli lobby, not the Saudi Lobby, or the Iranian Lobby and the Lebanese people are not afraid of any of them. The Lebanese people have already decided on STL. Neither side is going to change any minds. M14 represent the minority view. M8 and the Left (in this case) represent the majority view. And, no, Lebanon will not be the only country in the world stupid enough to abide by "International Law". Good night, and this is the end of the useless arguing over STL

Hey March 14 sweeties, the days of fabrications, lies and propaganda are gone for good, no matter how much you pounce, scream, beg or cry. The Party and the party are both over. You have miscalculated, continue to miscalculate and you have become so insignificant that no one will really care anymore. So go spend your time learning elementary mathematics, losers, this way you can continue to tel3abo bel 4

We should call for international sanctions against Mikati, his associates & his business if he does not adhere to 1757.
We are spread all over the globe and have interests with every other nation in the world.
Lebanon cannot play the Iranian or Syrian joker role.
We cannot & will not have a prime minister that goes against the international community & UN resolutions. He must be punished.

We and Hizballah are committed to the 1757. I swear. So now go back to sleep, punks.

could the supporters of M8 tell us in which way M8 is not a mafia nor a gang?

could they tell us that no one in M8 has never benefited from corruption nor has corrupted anybody?

could they explain why do they accept a party that clearly says that it doesn t obey to any gvt in lebanon?

could they explain why a party that has pledge allegiance to iran is not considered as a treason?

could they explain why the use of weapons from a party against lebanese citizens is legal when they don t accept a law from the gvt?

if they can answer these questions then they can label hariri as a gangster or a mafioso or whatever...

otherwise it clearly means they are just parrots repeating what they listen to on the tv like little 4 yrs old children...

what make me anxious this time is the retreat of the political power in the sunni community( saad hairi and co),in favour of the religious fanatism( sunni mollahs..kabbani)....very explosive..and i am suggesting 3 weeks to a month.
what is more worrisome,is the situation in the presidency:if u reread the inauguration speech of sleiman,u notice that sleiman is going outside his neutral stance in every paragraph......after the fall of the sunni prime ministry...... now we are noticing the fall of the maronite presidency...confrontation on religious level...3 weeks to a month.SYRIANISATION???????????/

Default-user-icon Lebanese Rambo (Guest) 04 July 2011, 04:08

Le Phenicien and the rest of the M8 supporters are the biggest hippocrates of them all. They want the Lebanese people to put Syria, Iran and Hiz El Shar first...They do not care about Lebanon, they only care about their interests...Why would any Lebanese pledge allegiance to Syria & Iran before their own country?..That's because the money they get paid by these regimes is what keeps their mouth open and their tummies filled..That is CORRUPTION by definition...As much as you might hate to hear this, Hariri re-built Lebanon...The only corruption was from money wasted to the Syrian regime everytime a project was planned for Lebanon...And now you threaten us with instability everytime things don't go your way...that is also CORRUPTION...When your in opposition you want a government of national unity, but when you get to government by a cout you don't care about this national unity..Please go and get some logic and look at yourself before you judge others...you might just learn something!

Syria is under an embargo, so is Iran, how do we plan to elevate a country to the next level by aligning ourselves with two Terrorist regimes?
There is no more Israel in South Lebanon, so as a step#1 towards reconciliation is disarm Hizb Allah same as any Syrian Citizen in the Golan, otherwise we need to send all well trained Hizb individuals to liberate the Golan from Israel.
This will need to be agenda#1 on the new government to do list.

Question to March 14 supporters .

How can you make PM Mikati step down ? By what means ??

Dont you know that you are wasting your time and your money with such stupid meetings ..!?

Dont you know that people are laughing at you ?

Last but not last : How many " divisions blindées " do you have ! to make him leave the grand serail by force ????

See you in 2013 and long live the third Lebanese Republic .

Default-user-icon Coolmec (Guest) 04 July 2011, 08:44

Le Phenicien
You really have a very fertile imagination ! Just you entertaining victory for the lunatic Aoun and Criminal Bashar and Nasrallah, make me wonder Do you live in this world? Can't you see Bashar's fortress is crumbling down? Nasrallah and the Hizb being slowly cornered and your favorite Aoun as usual betting on the wrong guys and losing....
Let me help you in seeing reality. Very soon Bashar and his family and croonies will be pursued while they are globe trotting trying to find a refuge. Unfortunately their Buddy chavez is kicking the bucket soon and their darling ahmadijad being eased out by the turbaned asses
Now that is reality Live with it and since you speak french ( I assume) tu te rappelles du proverbe Rira bien qui rira le dernier??
we will be the last ones laughing....
Now that is reality

excuse me le phenicien but you are not credible and the image you give of your M8 traitors is a very very low image.... not even the intelligence to defend them intelligently!
