The Egyptian football federation said Wednesday it had asked for the officiating team who handled the Pharoahs loss 3-2 last-16 to Argentina to be thrown out of the World Cup.
"Hany Aburida, President of the Egyptian Football Federation, filed a complaint with FIFA, demanding an investigation into the French referee Francois Letexier... after the serious refereeing mistakes committed by the team of referees and double standards, which caused the Egypt team to lose the match and leave the World Cup," said a statement from the federation.

Germany's foreign minister on Tuesday urged Lebanese authorities to confront Hezbollah and reassert state control over the country's south, where the militant group has been engaged in hostilities with Israeli forces.
During a visit to Jerusalem, Johann Wadephul, who backed Israel's ground invasion of southern Lebanon earlier this year, also praised the U.S.-brokered agreement between Israel and Lebanon, pledging Germany's support for what he described as a "historic" initiative.

Gulf emirate Qatar on Tuesday condemned Iran for an attack on one of its liquefied natural gas tankers as was transiting off the coast of Oman.
"The targeting of the Qatari vessel 'Al-Rekayyat' while transiting near the Strait of Hormuz constitutes an unacceptable attack on the security & safety of international maritime navigation," foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari wrote on X adding Qatar holds Iran "fully legally responsible for this attack & for any resulting damages & consequences".

U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday he was "very disappointed" by the response of NATO allies in Europe to his war with Iran after arriving in Turkey for the alliance's summit.
