Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Awad Asiri stressed on Monday that he will demand Lebanese authorities to clarify a report on an assassination bid targeting him.

He pointed out that he had obtained no information or warnings on such an attempt, but refused to deny the report.

Government officials ruled out a visit by Prime Minister Tammam Salam to Saudi Arabia anytime soon after King Salman announced a major shake-up in the line of succession and cabinet.
