Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri urged Hizbullah on Wednesday to stop sending fighters to Syria and stressed the need for the international community, led by France, to take action on Syria.

“We don't accept for any Lebanese to fight alongside the crimes” committed by the Syrian regime, Hariri said following talks with French President Francois Hollande at the Elysee Palace.

Change and Reform bloc MP Alain Aoun announced on Wednesday that the bloc will no longer cooperate with the Lebanese Forces and Phalange Party at the Bkirki committee aimed at devising a new parliamentary electoral law.

He said during a press conference: “We are no longer concerned with any joint work with the members of the Bkirki committee on devising a new electoral law.”

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea noted on Tuesday that the adoption of small electoral districts in a parliamentary electoral law will be more just for the Lebanese people, reported the Central News Agency.

He told the agency: “Contacts are underway with the Hizbullah and AMAL leaderships over the small districts.”

The head of the Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc MP Fouad Saniora handed on Tuesday President Michel Suleiman a March 14 memo that reiterates the opposition’s call for the expulsion of Syrian Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali and the control of the Lebanese border with Syria through U.N. help.

The memorandum also called for the formation of a national salvation government and filing a complaint to the Arab League over Syria’s repeated border violations.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea called on the Lebanese people to get rid of the effects of the Syrian regime on the Lebanese-Syrian ties, slamming the performance of the government and the security chaos in the country.

Geagea pointed out during the annual “Memorial Mass for the Martyrs of the Lebanese Resistance” that the Lebanese should differentiate between the regime of Syrian president Bashar Assad and the Syrian people.
