Geagea: Harmony Could Exist Only in Neutral Cabinet

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea said Saturday that harmony between cabinet members would currently be only guaranteed by the formation of a neutral government.

“The country shouldn't be left without a cabinet on condition that it be harmonious,” Geagea told a delegation visiting him at his residence in Maarab.

“Such characteristics for the time being would only be guaranteed by a neutral government,” he said.

Geagea has announced that he would not take part in a cabinet in which Hizbullah is represented even if his ally al-Mustaqbal movement leader Saad Hariri has accepted to share power with Hizbullah.

Negotiations are underway to form an all-embracing 24-member cabinet although President Michel Suleiman and Premier-designate Tammam Salam are sticking to the option of a non partisan government if the rival parties fail to strike a deal.

Hizbullah considers a neutral government as a fait accompli cabinet and has totally rejected it.

“I have a strong belief that as long as Hizbullah is in this current situation, we won't be able to improve the country,” Geagea told his visitors.

“On the contrary, things will head from bad to worse,” he said.

“There should be stability so that we have an acceptable situation in Lebanon,” Geagea said.

But he wondered how Hizbullah's presence in Syria and the Lebanese state could coexist.

Geagea slammed Hizbullah for fighting alongside troops loyal to President Bashar Assad in Syria against rebels seeking to topple him. He also accused it of plotting attacks against Israeli tourists in Cyprus and carrying out a deadly bus bombing in the Bulgarian resort of Burgas.

“We have a group inside Lebanon that sometimes fights in the South with Israel and sometimes in Syria and at other times in Bulgaria and Cyprus,” he said.

Hezbollah was responssible for the killing of 3000 lebanese (numb can always varry from a source to another but war in aklim al toufah was a fact), repossible for the assassination of comunist leaders in south lebanon also during 80s, comited kidnaping and kamikaz attempt then(u know if u take the journals from that period it is not hard to find specially that they were pride of those operations) nassralah said himself in the 80 on television (also available on youtube that his was milliting for islamic law tillthe andalousie..
So bravo FT judge him by his past, bravo..
I personaly chose to juge our politicians by there acts and current position (keeping in mind their past not to hv too much false expectations)...
But again bravo FT, plus one for u, now chupachups?

Missing peace 25 January 2014, 15:07

poor FT stupid as usual... so for geagea his past must be remembered and he should bejudged accordingly, but for your M8 allies who did also tok part in the civil war their past should not interfere? LOL

how idiot you are and irrelevant hypocrit... go play with kids your age....

Thumb -proudm14- 25 January 2014, 15:29

thank god we have M8 to provide such clean people for our executive government positions...Berri as Speaker...this guy's history is well known to be squeaky clean.

“I have a strong belief that as long as Hizbullah is in this current situation, we won't be able to improve the country,”… as always straight to the points.

Thumb general_puppet 25 January 2014, 13:22

mckinl, his position is of someone who does not want to keep taking part in a charade. If Hizbullah will not stop fighting for Assad or disarm or stop swearing allegiance to the Ayatollah's then what is the point of forming another make believe Lebanese government? You talk about the old guard stepping aside, when he is saying lets give a neutral government a chance that is a good place to start. He is not making the rules or enforcing his will on others he simply does not want to play in show.

Thumb ice-man 25 January 2014, 13:49

i think he can answer without your stupid mediation, thanks.

Again FT, define criminal, hachem minkara a man who implemented charia in tripoli mina during civil war, pulled acide on unveilled women, excecuted leftists and comunists to take control over the city, put men in ciment and threw them in the sea alive... This guy is a march 8 figure, so this one is secular, progressist, democrate and geagea an assassin...
Bravo FT as always superb comments..
Now really chupachups?
PS:it goes for most march 8 and march 14 leaders but just tge fact to point at one and forget attrocity of the others to make a political point pissed me off that's why i hv chosen hachem minkara exemple (plus he was sent back to us from syria, as chaker el abssi and co...)

Missing imagine_1979 25 January 2014, 15:07

FT he is march 8 tripoli figure please get ur infos right at least u know who u defend..
Second moustakbal tolerates him cause el mina is not dahiyeh with full control to a party and military areas, and eventhough problem happened there (few years ago he tried to farbit unveilled women in the vicinity of issa ibn maryam mosq, his mosq and a lebanese soldier got shot in altercation...
And finaly fatfat gave him permit because he is an idiot (adding to that he probably got some presure from march8 friends, or they never do presure?...)
Now that i have answered ur question FR; chupachups?....

who used to say MR geagea that there is no middle in Lebanon ???!!

Default-user-icon Hanoun (Guest) 25 January 2014, 13:28

Harmony
it can only exist when there is harmony between all Lebanese
if the Christian vote is not respected in the government there is no harmony the Christians must be represented in harmony to their nb of voters (democracy)

Missing cedars 25 January 2014, 13:43

We need another head of the church to unit the Christians so that we go back to the Druze-Sunni-Shia-Christian rule of thumb.
We are witnessing a deal that was stuck between US and Iran so there is no such thing as M14 and M8 any longer as it is working on our ground.
We knew this was coming and it's time to solve it now before it's too late.

Missing imagine_1979 25 January 2014, 14:14

We need a secular state so we can all leave under the same law with the same rights..
But that is only my simple opignion...

Missing peace 25 January 2014, 15:10

poor FT.... secularism is already mentioned in the constitution...and in taef... they just need to be enforced... but it is not in the interest of politicians to do so... too much to lose for them....

Missing imagine_1979 25 January 2014, 14:32

A neutral government is an ineffective government. But this government, for all negotiations will have a life of only months until there is an election of a President later this year. Of course, if no President is elected, then it may have a longer life.
