France: Iran Violating Arms Embargo with Shipments to Syria

16 January 2012, 16:59

"lebnanonfirst" what trash talking are you talking about? yours? yea maybe you should cut it and engage discussion, if this is really what you seek, in a calm way.
i never said iran was stronger than the US, they certainly arent. what i am saying is that thanks to russian sunburns, which, to date, cannot be intercepted by US ships counter-measures, they can deal a LOT of damage to US ships.
russians sold tens of thousands of these missiles to iran, and, knowing that these missiles fly at about mach 3, they can hit any ship around the straight within minutes. this is why, i believe, even if the US is stronger and has more firepower, the price to pay for attacking iran is more than they are willing to pay.

in my opinion this is the only reason why they haven't attacked. (in the sense that same reasoning applies with land bases in iraq, bahrein, afghanistan, kuwait etc... they can hit iran badly, and beat it, but in the process those bases will get hit back and expected losses exceed the benefits for the US.)

thank you for clarifying that slash, this is what i had always heard around me but wasn't sure.
regarding your drop-quizz, i'd say the word bible comes from latin, or greek? heard some people say it comes from "byblos" as well, but linguistics is not my primary field, so why dont you tell us? :)

quite hard to believe indeed, and would be funny as well if it wasnt so dramatic. they value life? who's life exactly? what value was given to the near 2,000,000 Iraqis who were killed by bush sr. clinton & bush jr? (400k first gulf war, 1000k during the 10 years of embargo, and about 600k since the second gulf war)
what about the US soldiers who were sent to kill and die?
we all know the WMD was a joke, we all know they didnt go to implement "democracy" they just went there for the oil, the $$$, that's the only thing they value. oh this and israel's security of course, which justifies breaking anyone who dares oppose the inhumane colonial and ethnic cleansing policies that have been implemented for the last half century.

lol, you call me a self proclaimed expert when i say i dont really know and it's not my primary field of interest? any excuse to be arrogant is a good excuse for you eh?
and mind you, i did not "make fools from each other (or others*)" here, if you go back to my original post you'll see it was polite and i was saying "if i am not mistaken".

only thing we can learn from him is who's the most generous bidder these days. seems like those behind the efforts against syria have deep pockets..
