Death of Saudi Crown Prince Delays Cabinet Session
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةAn extraordinary cabinet session on tourism scheduled to be held next Tuesday was postponed over the death of Saudi Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, An Nahar newspaper reported.
The daily said Sunday that the decision to postpone the session came after Premier Najib Miqati decided to head to Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral.
The crown prince, aged 80 according to government records, served as the oil kingpin's defense minister for nearly five decades but had been in the United States since mid-June for medical treatment.
President Michel Suleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, Miqati, ex-Premier Saad Hariri, al-Mustaqbal bloc leader Fouad Saniora, Phalange party chief Amin Gemayel and several Lebanese political and spiritual personalities have issued statements to extend their condolences.
Miqati has also held a telephone conversion with Saudi King Abdullah to condole him.
wtf??
some stooge in another country passes away and all of Lebanon pauses?
Lebanon still suffers from the idolising foreigners disease...
The cure is 10452km2, demarcating borders, disarmament of militias, boosting the army, state of the art Internet, access to sell gas reserves, creating a Free Economic Zone to attract business growth, improving the tourism sector, banning of the full face veil (its not a religous dress - its a yemeni cultural dress), renaming the political parties from sectarian and violent names to democratic ones (e.g removing the AK picture from Hezbollah flag for starters), changing the electoral role to have Lebanon as one district, creating incentives for Lebanese expatriates to return to live and invest in Lebanon and destroying non-Lebanese intelligence operations in the country (be it from Syria Iran Israel America et al).
So simple on paper... *sigh*
postponing the cabinet session because of some bedouins is ridicilous. even if someone calls him crown prince.
