Vatican Secretary of State to visit Lebanon next week
Vatican secretary of state Cardinal Pietro Parolin is visiting Lebanon next week, after he met at the Vatican last week with French Presidential Envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Parolin and Le Drian discussed the situation in Lebanon, the presidential crisis, and the results of the Quintet's efforts, media reports said.
"I was at the Vatican yesterday as a personal envoy of the President of the French Republic to discuss Lebanon with Cardinal Parolin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Holy See," Le Drian wrote on the X platform after meeting Parolin last week.
Parolin will meet with Lebanese leaders and officials, including Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker PM Najib Mikati, and Christian spiritual leaders, al-Joumhouria newspaper said Friday.
