Phalange: Solution to Govt. Crisis Must Respect President, Premier

The Phalange Party criticized on Monday the current crisis in the government, saying that it has demonstrated that it is incapable of settling the smallest of disputes.

It said in a statement after its weekly politburo meeting: “The solution to the crisis should adhere to the constitution and respect the role of the president and prime minister.”

In addition, it noted that the government was not even capable of tackling the people’s concerns during the snowstorm that lashed Lebanon over the weekend in that it has failed to meet the minimum requirements of reopening roads blocked by the snow or restoring power to areas that have witnesses severe power cuts.

“These are not major issues linked to the situation in the Middle East, but fundamental matters that have been left unresolved because of the government’s negligence,” it noted.

Prime Minister Najib Miqati has suspended cabinet sessions over a dispute with the Free Patriotic Movement over administrative appointments.

Addressing the Syrian developments, the Phalange Party remarked that the violence had reached a “very dangerous point in that it has become stronger than any other approach to the crisis.”

The party voiced its solidarity with the Syrian people, urging all Lebanese to take a similar stand.

Furthermore, it noted that a return for stability in Syria and its adoption of democracy “will pave the way for better relations between it and Lebanon.”

What a shitty Governement. It lacks personality and doesn't do much. We want electricity 24/7, we want the Shia to stop stealing it and want them to pay for the everything they've taken since the beginning. We want modern transport such as tramways and trains that go from Tripoli to Tyre. We want above all no more armed militias and local 'leaders' that fight with guns and grenades in our neighborhoods.

Thumbs Up!

How can they steal, what you don't have. You also have no water, a lousy internet. All this because of Hizballah. WOW.

The shia to stop stealing it ? I'm pretty sure Naharnet doesn't know the difference between Freedom of Speech and pure insults. Who do you think you are Crapsuspect ? The shia regions are the ones who barely get electricity 4 hours a day ! Lak lak lak...

Thumb primesuspect 20 February 2012, 19:54

If they get 4 hours per day, it's no coincidence. Don't make a fool of yourself. They 'only' get little electricity because EDL can't just cut the power supply on them. Why do you think they aren't building new power plants? Because they lack funds? The answer is no. The truth is they aren't going to upgrade the network if the same people keep stealing. I'm referring to beirut's suburbs.

I thought the ministry belongs to them.

Thumb Bandoul 20 February 2012, 22:12

Stephen, why so hot under the collar? Do you live in our beloved Lebanon and have first hand knowledge of what goes on there? Or are you a left wing Obama worshiper with such disdain for America that you will side with the filth that is the Party of Lies and Terror in order to display your displeasure with US forgein policy? Stop drinking the Kool-Aid and mind the store please. Any Shia or Sunni who doesn't defend Islam from the likes of Hizballah is just as much a thug and thief as they are.

We want Hariri son to return all his father and goons stole....oh wait he spent it all and not he needs Saudis to bail him out.

O Lebanese, Saad smoke your money away

Thumb Bandoul 20 February 2012, 22:23

I am sorry you suffer from Harriri derangement syndrome because you were offered hard cold cash to be part of Solidaire which you decided to oppose and turn down because of your biterness and hatered against the idea of Beirut rising from the ashes. However, what consumes you like a cancer is your hate for Muslims who went and got an education and became better than you while you sat on your thumbs feeling sorry for yourself. Go shove your intellect up GMA's keister, there you can hear nothing and see nothing and your brain washing will continue.

Thumb Bandoul 20 February 2012, 22:26

Ooooops I almost forgot, Harriri was already rich when he rebuilt Beirut. Imbecile and GMA had no money before the war but seem to be millionaires now....hmmm, I wonder.
