Bassil meets Berri, says 'easy' to agree on president

Free Patriotic Movement chief Jebran Bassil on Tuesday said that “through our unity, we can prevent internal strife, as the enemy is not only preparing to occupy our land, but also for internal strife.”

“The resistance fighters are doing their work, but domestically, we must do our work by embracing each other, and affirming that we are all guests of each other and that our homes are each other's homes. Coexistence should be manifested in such times, crises and hardships," Bassil added, after meeting Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain el-Tineh.

Separately, Bassil stressed "the necessity of speeding up the election of a president, because not electing a president today is a service to Israel.”

“It is easy for us to agree on a president who would bring us together, in order to protect Lebanon together and rebuild the state,” Bassil added.
