Egypt FM says any settlement must 'guarantee Lebanon's sovereignty'
Any settlement that “does not guarantee Lebanon's sovereignty” cannot be accepted, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said after meeting Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut.
“We are communicating with (U.S. Secretary of State Antony) Blinken and (U.S. mediator Amos) Hochstein to speed up the ceasefire in Lebanon,” Abdelatty added.
Saying he carried a message of support to Lebanon from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the Egyptian minister said he stressed to Berri that Egypt’s priority is “achieving a ceasefire without any conditions.”
“We condemn the aggression and we are continuing our contacts to stop it,” Abdelatty went on to say.
He also called for the election of a “consensual president” without “foreign diktats,” adding that “ending the presidential vacuum crisis should not be linked to the ceasefire.”
Abdelatty also met with Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, who emphasized that the army is ready to implement Resolution 1701 and to immediately deploy in the south to enforce it.
Egypt & Saudi Arabia must not make the same mistake Qatar did after 2006 War by helping rebuild the South and Dahia without requiring implementation of UN resolutions. This resulted in Hizbollah (Iran Brigade) military occupation of Lebanon and its reign of terror and misery. Hizb mercenaries spreading to train Houthis, Syrian and Iraqi terrorists destabilizing their countries to insure Iranian hegemony. Saudi Arabia must make clear to all Lebanese, especially that Hizbollah is classified as a terrorist organization, that no Saudi/Arab reconstruction aid will come to Lebanon without disarming Hizb and insuring Lebanon sovereignty on all its land with no arms outside army. Otherwise, any reconstruction aid will be hurting Lebanon and insuring Hizb oppressive occupation and indoctrination of its followers as well as intimidation of others and threatening the life of all opposition. The Arab/Muslim final declaration in Riyadh was a disappointment for lack of clarity.
Sovereignty? But we are no sovereign! We report to the Islamic country of Iran. We are vassals to their agenda. They want to get validated by the US and our raison d'etre as a country is as a tool to achieve that goal. Our dear "ta2ifeh chi3iyyeh karimeh" is being bought at 1 billion dollars yearly for that very objective.
So no..sovereignty is not important. Just give us peace and whomever wants to trample on us, let him be our guest.
