Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem al-Thani stated on Monday that the his country is prepared to comply with any suggestion to ease the political and economic situation on Lebanon.

He said: “Qatar is studying the possibility of allowing its residents to travel to Lebanon in light of the improved security situation there.”

He made his remarks after holding talks with visiting Prime Minister Najib Miqati.

“Qatar has a moral obligation to help Lebanon before and after the Doha accord,” added the Qatari premier.

The 2008 Doha accord was aimed at settling political disputes between the rival March 8 and 14 camps that had threatened to sink the country into unrest.

For his part, Miqati announced that the higher Lebanese-Qatari committee will resume its meetings in 2013.

He also revealed that Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani had signed earlier on Monday six cooperation agreements with Lebanon that had been suspended.

The Qatari premier voiced his country's readiness to make new investments in Lebanon.

The Lebanese premier had kicked off his visit to Qatar on Monday by holding talks with the Emir.

Qatar had imposed travel restrictions on its citizens, urging them against heading to Lebanon in the wake of a wave of kidnappings of foreign nationals in Lebanon in August.

Good. Now follow through, remove those stupid restrictions, and start making some productive investments in Lebanon instead of buying football teams in Europe.

Wrong! even football teams investments are more profitable than any investment in Lebanon. Nobody invests in a sterile area.

Wrong Byblos. Lebanon is not a sterile area. it is a country brimming with entrepreneurship. Else how do u explain so many investments in lebanon in spite of the poor situation?

Qatar only invest into Lebanon to cover the fact that they support terrorist rebels WHO ARE ACTUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR DESTABLISING SYRIA AND LEBANON.

Qatar Government fund and support murder and that is a fact. This then means they can buy up Lebanon at a much cheaper price. The Arab world is finally awakening to the sick tactics of the Qataris.

Tell me this: if Qatar had no oil, who what would they be good for?
