The army conducted on Tuesday a raid in the Bekaa town of Brital where it confiscated drugs and a number of stolen cars, reported Voice of Lebanon radio (100.5) on Tuesday.
The cars were found at the residence of Suheil Haidar Mazloum, who was arrested along with four members of the Tleis family.
Mazloum was arrested on drug related charges and outgoing warrants against him, said VDL (93.3).
It later reported that one of the Tleis family members was released after it was revealed that he was not linked to the incident.
Speaker Nabih Berri had announced on Monday that the army will soon deploy heavily in the Bekaa in order to implement a security plan aimed at combating lawlessness in the region.
Increasing crime, thefts and abductions in the Bekaa have intensified in the past year, although the state institutions have launched a number of campaigns to combat the trend.
The army recently launched a crackdown on assailants in Beirut's southern suburbs and several other areas in an attempt to halt a kidnapping spree of several businessmen and numerous bank robberies.
Thousands of cars have been stolen for more than 15 years and we all know whom was behind and where they were kept. Who will compensate?
The only thieves and thugs are the Shia,in the civilized Phil's eyes. Like in the USA, the only thieves and thugs are the niggers.
well... if there's theft in the bronx, you're going to assume...
They should have lined them against a wall and shot them... save the taxpayers money... worthless creatures and poor reasons for human beings...!
An LF supporter, I am not pal... Nor do I support any political party... In civilized countries such outlaws do not exist and therefore they should not be given due process of law... People like me are sick and tired of such criminals roaming free and depriving us of our rights to walk freely and not worry about being robbed at gunpoint... So before you run to the defense of the likes of you, you should respect our rights first...
Run....run....run...Israel is coming for you! LMAO. Pathetic conditioned villager!
The fundamental split in vision regarding Syria cannot be discussed and nobody can change the mind of another. It is deep and related to history. Nobody is wrong here. Just recall the last 30 years when it began with the hegemony of Christians with at their head the Kataeb, their slow decline, and the rising of Syrian-backed movements. The main objective was to destroy the reigning right-wing authority and replace it with Muslim powers. How can a Sunni/Shia hate Syria -until the death of Hariri- and how can a Christian like them? Shia were almost absent from the government and its institutions in the seventies. Syria helped them create ghettos out of control of the state and to build a parallel power, not controllable by him.
I used to sympathize with you all politically, until I realized you're just as ignorant and more hateful than those you criticize i.e. Hezb. Shame on you for the blatant sectarianism that is splurged throughout this website, you're no different than any other extremist, be they Shia, Sunni, or otherwise. You're all good for each other, bravo shabab.
The LF are on the right side of the present (anti-Syria, anti-Hezb, pro-Lebanon) and the wrong side of history (bloodthirsty killers during the civil war). FPM are on the wrong side of the present (pro-Syria, pro-Hebz, anti-Lebanon) and the right side of history (Aoun was a hero, but now he's a zero). They are both trying to prove that they are on the right side of the present and the right side of history, which involves lying and lying and lying... Both need to die in a fire from hell for Lebanon to be reborn as an independent country without Syria's dictator controlling it.
