Fatfat: Head of Mustaqbal Movement Won't Make Further Concessions over STL
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةMustaqbal bloc MP Ahmed Fatfat noted that Lebanon is currently passing through a period of calm, which he attributed to the Saudi-Syrian understanding and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon.
He told al-Liwa Monday that the calm is also due to the March 8 forces' conviction that it would be difficult to achieve more political gains by pressuring Prime Minister Saad Hariri over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
Fatfat said: "He cannot and will not make further concessions over the tribunal or the indictment."
Addressing the false witnesses file in the investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the MP said that it is not within the justice council's jurisdiction to tackle this issue.
"There can be no middle ground in this matter, unless they want to eliminate the judiciary through political pressure," he added.
