Military Tribunal Judge Imad al-Zain requested the referral of 13 people, including 9 from al-

Meqdad family, to the court to be tried over an abduction spree of Syrians and Turkish nationals to avenge the kidnapping of Hassan al-Meqdad in Syria in August.

According to al-Mustaqbal newspaper published on Thursday, the suspects could be sentenced to life in prison with hard labor.

The 13 men are charged with forming an armed group to carry out terrorist acts, abduction of Syrians and Turks, jeopardizing the civil, social and political situation, threatening military personnel and the possession of illegal weapons.

In September, Zein issued arrest warrants against the suspects, including al-Meqdad clan spokesman Maher al-Meqdad.

The Army arrested several al-Meqdad family members, among them Maher, during raids on Beirut's southern suburbs and other areas.

Since then, the clan has freed the abductees.

Anyone carrying arms outside the control of the state should be judged and put in jail.
we are with the state of Lebanon, nobody else.

I dont think Mokdads are HA supporters. Mokdads and other tribesmen were here before HA, and they dont beleive in a centralized state authority. I think their strings were pulled by assad, and they got themselves in a mess they didnt expect.
HA on the other hand is a regulated disciplined force whose 2 objectives are to reinforce the voice of the chiites in Lebanon, and to help Iran acheive its ambitions as a regional power.

This judge is a coward like the legal system in Lebanon. They want to sentence them to life in prison for kidnapping while when Lebanese whom spied for Israel were sentenced for some years in prison only or been released even when their spying provided information to Israel that killed hundreds of Lebanese. Sentence the judge to life in prison!
