Miqati Hopes for Tolerance as Qabbani Proposes Meeting of ex-PMs
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةPrime Minister Najib Miqati extended on Thursday his good wishes to Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani and hoped for peace and security in Lebanon on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
Miqati made an early morning visit to the Mufti at Dar al-Fatwa to extend his wishes.
Following the meeting, Miqati told reporters that the talks “did not focus on the issue of the government.”
Later the prime minister hoped for security, safety, forgiveness and peace in a message on twitter.
He also wished the Lebanese in general and Muslims in particular a blessed Islamic New Year.
During his talks with Miqati that was attended by other Ulemas, Qabbani proposed to hold a meeting of former prime ministers at Dar al-Fatwa “to discuss ways to resolve the deteriorating situation in Lebanon, in particular at the Islamic level which requires unity.”
The Mufti said he will make the necessary contacts to hold such a meeting.
