Head of al-Mustaqbal Movement and Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri kicked off his two-day official visit to Moscow on Wednesday by meeting with Russian FM Sergei Lavrov.

Talks underlined the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, a statement issued by Hariri's press office read.

Al-Mustaqbal movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri arrived Tuesday evening in the Russian capital Moscow on an official visit.

Hariri will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and a number of officials during his stay, his press office said.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri snapped back at Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah late Tuesday, accusing him of acting as the owner of Lebanese territories.

“Neither Hizbullah nor the Iranian Revolutionary Guards nor the barrel bomb attack... will be able to protect Bashar Assad from falling, as logic says that history will not have mercy on a person responsible for the death of thousands,” Hariri said in a statement issued by his press office.

Head of al-Mustaqbal Movement and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri met on Tuesday with French President Francois Hollande in Riyadh.

The meeting comes in light of Hariri's shuttle diplomacy to safeguard Lebanon from the conflict raging in the region.

Conflicting reports emerged on Monday whether Mustaqbal Movement leader and ex-Prime Minister Saad Hariri agreed on the appointment of Commando Regiment chief Brig. Gen. Chamel Roukoz, Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun's son-in-law, as army chief.

Sources close to the FPM denied in comments published in As Safir newspaper that Hariri informed Aoun his consent on the appointment of Roukoz as military chief in return for the appointment of head of the Internal Security Force Information Branch Imad Othman as ISF chief.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement leader and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri has reportedly agreed on a settlement with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun regarding the appointment of his son-in-law Commando Regiment chief Brig. Gen. Chamel Roukoz as army chief.

According to Ad Diyar newspaper published on Sunday, Hariri's envoy will soon inform Aoun about his agreement.

Mustaqbal Movement leader and ex-Prime Minister Saad Hariri is expected to meet with French President Francois Hollande in Saudi Arabia.

The meeting will be held in Riyadh on the sidelines of Hollande's visit to Riyadh to attend the Gulf Cooperation summit on Tuesday, the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat reported on Sunday.
