Speaker Nabih Berri voiced optimism that dialogue between the Mustaqbal Movement and Hizbullah will continue despite the tensions between the two sides and their respective allies Saudi Arabia and Iran, reported As Safir newspaper on Wednesday.

His visitors on Tuesday quoted him as expressing his confidence that “both sides of the dialogue are committed to the talks despite some calls to halt it.”

Hizbullah and al-Mustaqbal movement held their tenth dialogue session on Tuesday and discussed “the continuation of the security measures” in all regions, as the verbal escalation continued between the two parties over the Saudi-led operation in Yemen.

“The conferees tackled the continuation of the security measures in all regions in order to immunize the domestic situation, in addition to other issues that are of concern to the Lebanese,” the two parties said in a joint statement after the talks in Ain al-Tineh.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri discussed with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani the importance of unity against Huthi rebels in Yemen.

“The one-hour meeting (in Doha) tackled the latest developments in the region,” said a statement issued by Hariri's press office.

Lebanese politicians warned on Saturday against the return to war on the 40th anniversary of the start of Lebanon's civil war that killed more than 150,000 people.

“We did not end our civil war to precipitate our country into the furnace of Arab wars,” said al-Mustaqbal Movement leader ex-PM Saad Hariri via twitter.

Speaker Nabih stressed on Friday that dialogue between the rival two parties al-Mustaqbal movement and Hizbullah will continue, pointing out that the upcoming session will remain on time.

“Dialogue will continue and will continue to achieve Lebanon's best interest,” Berri said.

Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi criticized Hizbullah's Loyalty to the Resistance bloc chief MP Mohmmed Raad's response to Mustaqbal Movement leader MP Saad Hariri over the developments in Yemen and Iran's role in the region, reported the daily al-Mustaqbal on Friday.

He said: “Those speaking against the usurpation of the will of the Yemeni people have condemned themselves in supporting the actions of the Syrian regime, which has destroyed its cities and villages on its residents.”

Head of Hizbullah's Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad criticized on Thursday Mustaqbal Movement leader MP Saad Hariri's positions on the Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen, saying that linking Iran to the developments in Yemen and Lebanon are a “major mistake.”

He said in a statement: “Only ignorants and cowards remain silent over Saudi Arabia's genocide in Yemen.”

Head of the Mustaqbal Movement MP Saad Hariri remarked on Wednesday that Lebanon was “not in need of further problems created by Hizbullah”, the latest of which was dragging Tele Liban in the political and media battlefield in the country.

He condemned in a statement the use of “Lebanese media outlets to target friendly Arab countries and Saudi Arabia similar to the practices adopted by some suspicious voices and yellow journalism that want Lebanon to become a partner in antagonizing its Arab brothers for the sake of Iran and its regional policies.”

Hizbullah on Sunday lashed out anew at “those who don't want dialogue” between the party and al-Mustaqbal movement, blasting them as “instigators and rabble-rousers," as it called for speeding up efforts aimed at securing the election of a new president.

“We know that dialogue can only succeed if both parties want it and this is the case now. Some voices have rejected dialogue and they have become well-known,” Hizbullah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem said.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement leader and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri lashed out on Saturday at Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, despite confirming that the dialogue will continue to preserve Lebanon's interests.

“The Lebanese listened tonight (Friday) to a storm of hatred against Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states in response to the Decisive Storm military intervention that aims to prevent the Iranian infiltration to Yemen,” Hariri said on his account via Twitter.
