@Paul: the diplomatic way is currently being explored, and everybody is waiting to see what comes out of it.

In your example about Russia and Norway, and according to your own account of it, "not a barrel of oil was produced" before the resolution of the dispute. This is important, whereas in our case Israel is rushing its preparation to start extracting (and has already started in some area). We saw too many time how their politic of "fait accompli" has been used for instance to rush the colonization of the West Bank before peace talks, creating irreversible (or very hard to reverse) situations.

Let's negotiate that one, sure, but if we see they are trying to suck out the oil before getting to the discussion table then no, we're not going to let it happen so easily. Sick of being ripped off by these greedy crooks.
